The computer power of a modern PC network makes it possible to process tasks that were once the domain of mainframe computers. RedTitan enterprise document portal (nPortal) software provides the automated enviroment for the deployment of intelligent batch processing applications on the Windows platform.
The key component of nPortal is an advanced function web server. This provides a familiar interface for all users of the network using a regular web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator/Communicator. RedTitan programs running on the server machine are now visible (password protected) to remote users without the need for special client software. This model has the benefit that new components can be added seamlessly at the server to give extra functions or create new job steps in data processing applications. From the web server users can run any of the RedTitan modules for designing, formatting, viewing and transforming documents.
In addition to remote program control, the nPortal web server acts as the platform for a data spooler with multi-protocol connectivity options.
Intrinsic to the nPortal software is a password protected web site that may be used for electronic document publication e.g. PDF files. Access to data on this site is recorded by user, time, and date so that document distribution can be verified.
